SINGAPOREAN SINGER-SONGWRITER NATHAN HARTONO TEAMS UP WITH DJ-PRODUCER MYRNE FOR OFFICIAL REMIX OF “THE DIFFERENCE”

SINGAPORE, DECEMBER 17, 2021 – Singaporean singer-songwriter Nathan Hartono teams up with DJ-producer MYRNE for an official release of single “The Difference (MYRNE Remix),” available across all digital platforms worldwide today. The duo will also be performing the remix at Mediacorp’s Let’s Celebrate 2022 year-end countdown live at The Float @ Marina Bay this December 31, 2021.
This release marks the third time Nathan Hartono and MRYNE have worked together. They have previously collaborated on the singles, “I’m Fine” and “The Difference,” both taken from Nathan Hartono’s most recent EP, Edge of Days. With the opportunity to close off the year with a resounding bang at Mediacorp’s Let’s Celebrate 2022 year-end countdown show, both artists have decided to give “The Difference,” which is originally a piano-driven ode to love, a makeover of sorts.
Says Nathan on this remix collaboration, “This was my first time working on a remix of my own song, so the process alone was creatively invigorating. Working with MYRNE was as smooth as ever, and I’m really excited with how we reimagined a song we previously worked together on.”
Adds MYRNE on the production process, “The intention for this remix was to really turn the track on its head. It started out as a simple 'live edit' I was making with Nathan, to play out at Let’s Celebrate 2022, which is Singapore's main NYE celebration. It soon started taking on a life of its own, and we had a lot of fun turning a downtempo, introspective song into something broodier and electronic. Having co-produced the original song, I felt like I had full creative freedom to do whatever I liked!”
“The Difference (MYRNE Remix)” caps off Nathan Hartono’s music streak in 2021, where he has released a string of singles, leading up to his latest 4-track EP, Edge of Days, out in September this year. Nathan is currently working on a brand-new music phase with new materials penciled in for release in the first quarter of 2022.
