NATHAN HARTONO RETURNS TO THE LIVE STAGE WITH “IN THE CLOUDS LIVE!” THIS OCTOBER 5TH AT THE CAPITOL THEATRE

With his long-awaited solo return to the stage, this concert is Nathan’s best one yet, with odes to the past and new songs paving the way for his current self in his journey of re-discovery, giving fans new insight as to the artiste and person he has become. Challenging everything that is known about him, Nathan reveals a new side of himself in the concert, shedding light on his newfound perspective on fame, love, and happiness.

Since his debut as a teenage jazz sensation in 2006, Nathan has forged a remarkable career with multifaceted artistic pursuits. It wasn’t until 2016 that the runner-up accolade from Sing! China became the catalyst of a whirlwind of events that took Nathan’s musical career by storm. High profile brand engagements, massive overseas performances, Mandopop career development in China, starring roles in theatre plays and big-screen movies, a National Day Theme Song and more flocked in. The glitz and the blitz of newfound fame followed by a global pandemic that shook the world to a standstill for two years allowed breathing room and space for a lot more introspection and reflection that formed the foundation of brand-new musical output for the 32-year-old musician.

Through these confusing times, and in Nathan’s own words, “It took a lot of time to work through these things, and even more time to then translate it to some kind of musical output. But the process, though trying, has been some of the most rewarding art I’ve been involved in creating.”

He continues, “I’ve been so excited to share this new music, even more so in front of a live audience. I feel like I’ve been hidden away for a few years now, whether that was circumstantial or a personal decision, I’m not even sure anymore. But it has given me the opportunity to reevaluate and reinvent myself and all things that I have struggled with in my career. I have so many stories to tell, so many things to say, I just hope that one concert is enough.” 

More will be unveiled as part of Nathan’s forthcoming studio album fittingly titled, The Great Regression, where all the new music are curated as part of a rediscovery of the artist. The 8-track album contains all five singles released thus far and will be led by focus track, “In The Clouds,” in line with the concert.

号称向洋有史以来「最令人期待」的个人演唱会，他会在来临的《In The Clouds LIVE!》演唱会中展开一场探索之旅，让陪伴他的粉丝重新见证他作为艺人以及个人的成长，用心编排回馈等候已久的粉丝。以全新视角诉说「爱情」、「幸福」、「名利」，向洋挑战自我极限，只为让观众能够一睹他别与以往的面向。

向洋在2006年以少年爵士歌手的姿态出道，多才多艺的他接下来更创下了许多非凡的音乐战绩。他曾在2016年夺下《中国新歌声》亚军殊荣，为其音乐生涯推向新高峰，随即马不停蹄展开各种品牌活动、大型海外演出、前往中国发展、主演电影及剧集、演唱国庆庆典主题曲等。

面对突如其来的爆红光环，以及影响全球的疫情关系，导致他有了两年的停滞期，但恰好也给予他更多自省反思的空间，亦为全新的音乐作品定下了基调。

向洋感性分享经历混乱时光的想法：“我花了很长一段时间来处理消化这些情绪，耗费更多时间来把它们转化为音符。尽管创作过程充满挑战，对我而言却是意义非凡的。”

他不忘补充：“我很高兴能分享这些新作品，尤其是可以在现场观众面前演绎。我觉得这几年我变得相当低调，我也无法确定这到底是因为环境或个人因素使然。不过，这无疑给了我重新审视和创造自己、正视歌手生涯前景。我有很多故事要讲，有很多话要说，希望一场演唱会是足够的。”

向洋在演唱会中也会携着即将发行的全新专辑《The Great Regression》归来，专辑整体氛围看似压抑沮丧，实则是一个“重新发现向洋”的蜕变旅程 —— 他从中学会了如何更好地面对自己，并接受这段疯狂音乐生涯所带来的美好与波折。
